He was obviously more a teacher than a singer after 2010, but had a quite good career, too. He was born in Palermo. His debut was in 1988, as Rodolfo at the
Deutsche Oper Berlin. Rodolfo was to become one of his most important roles, along with Alfredo, Massenet's Des Grieux and Pinkerton; but
he sang also heavier parts like Gabriele Adorno, Don José or Loris. Important stages of his career were productions of Fedora
(Monte Carlo, 1989), Manon (Torino, 1989), Madama Butterfly (Torre del Lago, 1991), Le villi (Fermo, 2000), La traviata (Salzburg, 2004)
and Don Quichotte (Palermo, 2010). He sang a lot in Germany, South Africa and Sydney.
