Nicola Fasciolo

Fasciolo studied piano, organ, and singing in Torino. He never performed on stage any operatic role due to his physical appearance.

He specialized in sacred music.

From 1900 to 1940, he was soloist of the Casa Reale and the Torino Cathedral.

He was a renowned interpreter of the music of the composer and priest Lorenzo Perosi, whose works became famous worldwide at the beginning of the 20th century.

Together with Chiarina Fino-Savio and Giuseppe Kaschmann, he became one of the leading interpreters of Perosi's music.

He sang in many churches in northern Italy, at the Comunale in Bologna, at the Carlo Felice in Genova, and Milano in performances of those oratorios.

During December 1902, he had great success in the tenor part of Perosi's Risurrezione di Cristo at the Siena Cathedral. Also in December 1902, he sang in the Italian premiere of San Francesco by Edgar Tinel in Milano, and the Italian premiere of Maria al Golgota by Antonio Sanzogno with Guerrina Fabbri in Florence.

In 1904, he sang in Warsaw, with great success, Perosi's oratorio Il giudizio universale with Irma Monti-Baldini and Giuseppe Kaschmann.

In 1919, he toured the USA and Canada with the Società Polifonica Romana. He was also an appreciated intepreter of popular music.
