Jon Crain

Jon Crain (born Jon Crowe) made his debut at the Lake George Summer Opera as Lyonel in "Martha", and sang
a few more leading parts before being conscripted into the US army in 1942, as an Entertainment Specialist, giving concerts and producing
radio shows in military context. Having been discharged in 1946, he attended Juilliard School of Music for further vocal training.
His career was mainly with the Met, the New York City and the San Francisco Opera. He retired early, in 1966, to become artist in residence
at West Virginia University.
