Pjotr Batorin

We have very little information on him. It is said that he was born in 1883 in Ukraine in a priest family. He never received any musical education. In 1901/2, Batorin began to sing operetta, and then gypsy romances. In 1914, Batorin composed some romances that were well received in Russia. Sometimes Batorin sang opera, mainly Russian roles, however he had no success. On his death, the scarce sources differ: either he died in Poland in 1928, or (more likely) on March 24th, 1923 in Istanbul. He recorded in 1913–1915.
