In RA format

Raptis was born in Greece in 1933, 1935 or 1936 (various sources give various dates), but moved to Szczecin, Poland with his family in 1950. He studied voice in Szczecin (1950–55), and in Poznań (1955–60), and graduated with honors. After graduation, he was immediately engaged at the Grand Theater in Łódż, where he appeared as soloist from 1961 to 1973. He participated in many vocal competitions, and in 1972 won a first prize at the International Vocal Competition in Paris. After leaving the Łódż opera, Raptis appeared as guest at many opera houses at home and abroad, and also sang with leading orchestras around the world. Among the countries in which he sang were the United States, Canada, Hungary, Germany, Greece and the Soviet Union. Raptis also appeared regularly on Polish radio, and there is a vast repertoire of his recordings in the archives of the Łódż station, which ranges from classical to contemporary song.

I wish to Harold Byrnes for the biographical notes and picture.
