Richard Holm

He studied at the conservatory in his native Stuttgart and made his debut in 1937 in Kiel, where he stayed for the next years. 1942 to 1945, he sang in Nürnberg, and from 1948 to the end of his career in the early 1980s, at the Munich Staatsoper. Guest appearances at the Salzburg Festival, the Met, in Glyndebourne and in London.

His specialties were Mozart on the one hand, and contemporary opera on the other.

In Munich, he also taught voice at the music academy; one of his pupils was Francisco Araiza.
