Lorenz Fenhenberger in Carmen

He already sang in a boys' choir. After vocal studies, he made his professional debut in 1939 in Graz. 1941–45, he was at the State Opera Dresden.

From 1946 on, he was a member of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, where he was to remain for good – his last performance there was in 1979.

As a guest, he appeared at the Salzburg Festival (1949–62), at the Vienna State Opera, at Covent Garden, in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and South America.
