Athos Cesarini

Cesarini (right) with Mario Del Monaco

Athos Cesarini sings Otello: Vieni, l'aula è deserta, with Antonio Manca Serra and Gino Sarri (Otello)
In RA format
Cesarini was born in Corinaldo, probably in 1925. From the early 1950s to mid-1970s, he made a good career in Italy as a comprimario, singing roles from the First Peasant in Pagliacci to Arturo in Lucia, from Roderigo to Cassio – but also, very surprisingly, Fra Melitone! He sang a whole lot in Rome, but also at the San Carlo in Naples, at La Scala, in Trieste or Bologna, but also in Monte Carlo and at the Vienna Staatsoper.

He was a very close friend of Mario Del Monaco.
