Dongwon Shin

Born in South Korea, Shin studied voice in Seoul, Indiana and at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, from which he graduated in 2005. He made his debut the same year as Radamès, in Philadelphia as well. His career took him quickly to places like Santa Fe (where he sang his first Calaf, 2005), Nashville, Dayton, Palm Beach, to the Opera Delaware, Opera Carolina, Arizona Opera, Houston, Montreal, the Savonlinna Festival (Radamès), Opera Australia (very successful debut as Calaf in 2007), Opera New Zealand... but also to Covent Garden (Radamès), the Vienna State Opera (Radamès again, 2011), Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden (Manrico, 2009), Trieste (Samson) or San Francisco (Radamès, Dick Johnson).
